Fr. Anthony Camilleri

Fr. Anthony Camilleri,
Associate Pastor

Anthony Camilleri grew up in the Farmington area and attended the Religious Education Program at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Farmington. While in High School, his family moved to Highland Township and his home parish became Holy Spirit Church. It was during his years at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Prep High School that Anthony began considering a vocation as a priest.

After graduating high school, Anthony decided to attend Central Michigan University. The idea of a religious vocation had stuck with him, but it wasn't until a visit to Fatima in the spring of 2003 that Anthony truly received the Call.  He met a priest with whom he had something in common. Fr. Alphonse Camilleri (not related, but also Maltese) was a retired Jesuit missionary who worked at Fatima each year hearing confessions, in several languages, for eight hours a day. Fr. Camilleri spoke to Anthony as a spiritual grandfather and gave him this advice on being a good servant for God and God’s people:

1) Have a deep relationship with Jesus
2) Pray often in front of the Blessed Sacrament
3) Pray the rosary and ask for the Blessed Mother’s help

"I felt that meeting Fr. Camilleri was no chance encounter. I believe the Holy Spirit made our paths cross – meeting him has, in effect, strengthened my commitment to vocations."

Fr. Anthony earned a Masters of Divinity and was ordained at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral on May 26, 2007. This is his first Parish appointment.
