• What happens if my child has missed a sacrament and is behind in religious education? We have a program that is very similar to our Adult classes that introduces our faith and prepares children for their sacraments. Call our office for more info on RCIC (Rite of Christian Initiation for Children) or visit the section of this website. • What do I do for a family member or friend that is interested in becoming Catholic?
Adults interested in the catholic faith can join an inquiry group that meets in the fall. If individuals decide from this inquiry that they desire to celebrate the sacraments and become fully initiated into the catholic church sessions then continue through the winter and adults are baptized, receive first communion and are confirmed at the Easter Vigil celebration. • When are religious education classes, and what happens if our family schedule conflicts?
There are five different options…classes for 1st 8th grade meet Monday or Wednesday at 4:30pm or 6:30pm, or Tuesday at 6pm in classrooms at St. Joseph School. Registration forms are available on this site. If these sessions conflicts with family schedules you may opt for the Family Study program. Families study at home and meet four times in the year as a group to enrich learning. Call for more info. • How do I get information about sacraments?

The Faith Formation Department provides a curriculum, lesson plans, training, and ongoing support and formation. So don’t hesitate, come and join our team! • How will I know if Religious Education classes are cancelled for the afternoon/night?
We follow the Lake Orion calendar and inclement weather schedule. If Lake Orion Public Schools are closed, our classes will also be closed. If for some reason we have a building problem or need to close when Lake Orion is still in session, the teachers will attempt to call families. We will also hang our orange signs in the window that read “No RE Tonight.” |
