St. Joseph School Test Scores

This past January, the Michigan Department of Education released the Fall of 2006 MEAP scores. This test is very different from the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, which. . . . The MEAP test is a performance based assessment that identifies student grade level proficiency in several subject areas. The St. Joseph students are only tested in areas that qualify them for the Michigan merit award (7th grade- ELA, and 8th grade-Math/Science).

We are proud to announce that our students' performance on the assessment was outstanding. With no preparation for the MEAP test, 100% of our 7th graders met the state standards in ELA (what does this stand for?), 100% of our 8th graders met the state standards in Science, and 96% of 8th graders met the state standards in Math. For the past two years we have had the opportunity to compare our students with the local school districts and state scores (the numbers represent the percentage of students at or exceeding state expectation):
